I currently meet with clients, and am available for consultations, during the week Monday through Thursday

Expectations & Policies

Weekly Commitment: The therapeutic journey is an extremely rewarding albeit slow process of unfolding. In order to get the most benefit out of our time together, I require a commitment from clients for consistent weekly meetings (not including emergency, illness, etc.).

Cancelling and Rescheduling Sessions: We are making a commitment to this process, so I expect that you will be meeting with me every week. In cases where this is not possible, I expect 1-week notice by text, voicemail, or email. In cases of emergency or illness, I expect you to notify me as soon as you are able to.

If you wish to reschedule our session, I expect 1-week notice.

Cancelling your session within the 1-week window incurs the full session fee.

Limited Cancellation Policy: Clients are able to miss a certain amount of sessions either last-minute (due to illness or emergency) or with advanced notice, without incurring the session fee, every calendar year.

Therapist OOO: Clients can expect me to be out of the office a certain number of weeks every calendar year, due to juggling the demands of a PhD program and also needing time to recharge and regroup.

These policies allow me to reserve your session time exclusively for you and ensures we are maximizing our time together in support of your process.

I offer telehealth sessions throughout the state of California due to the pandemic. Sessions are held via online video conferencing (Zoom), though in specific instances I will meet by phone. I do not offer phone sessions for ongoing weekly therapy.

In-Person Therapy

I offer in-person sessions from my office in Berkeley, CA. At this time, I am continuing to monitor local policies and am asking that clients wear masks in session until I hear differently.

I am an out-of-network provider, meaning I do not work directly with insurance companies, however, some plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network care. I would be happy to provide you with a super bill (a detailed receipt for services) to submit to your insurance for reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. Please check with your insurance provider directly to inquire...

1) if they offer reimbursement for individual or couples therapy,

2) what percentage do they cover, and if there is a deductible you need to reach before you start getting reimbursed,

2.5) if you are a couple wanting longer sessions, whether or not they offer reimbursement for sessions extending beyond 50-60 minutes, and

3) how you would go about submitting your super bill to them and what other documentation they would require from you to facilitate reimbursement (some plans have their own forms).
